Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Introduction

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology is an essential clinical department in the BHMS curriculum, dedicated to the study of women's health, pregnancy, childbirth, and diseases of the female reproductive system.

The department provides structured academic and clinical training to undergraduate students, focusing on both normal and abnormal pregnancy, labour management, neonatal care, and gynaecological disorders. Emphasis is placed on integrating Homoeopathic principles in the management of obstetric and gynaecological conditions.

Students are trained in antenatal examination, monitoring of labour, identification of high-risk pregnancies, and management of common gynaecological problems through a Homoeopathic approach. The curriculum combines theoretical instruction with bedside clinical exposure, case discussions, and hands-on practical training.

The department also promotes awareness of maternal health, reproductive health, family welfare, and preventive care. Clinical postings, community health programmes, and hospital-based training enable students to develop diagnostic skills, ethical patient care practices, and professional competence.

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology aims to produce competent Homoeopathic physicians capable of managing women’s health issues with scientific knowledge, clinical confidence, and compassionate care.
