Department of Anatomy

Introduction

The Department of Anatomy forms the foundation of medical education in a Homoeopathy college. It deals with the scientific study of the structure of the human body, which is essential for understanding health, disease, diagnosis, and therapeutic application of Homoeopathic principles.

In the BHMS curriculum, Anatomy is taught during the First Professional year, integrating Gross Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, Osteology, Neuroanatomy and Surface Anatomy. The department aims to provide clear structural knowledge that supports the understanding of Physiology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, Surgery and other clinical subjects.

The department emphasizes practical-oriented learning through well-equipped dissection halls, osteology and histology laboratories, use of models, charts, specimens and audiovisual aids, along with demonstrations linking anatomy with clinical and homoeopathic relevance.

Special attention is given to clinical anatomy and applied aspects, enabling students to correlate anatomical structures with symptoms, miasms and individualistic treatment in Homoeopathy.

The Department of Anatomy strives to develop sound anatomical knowledge, observational skills and professional competence among students, thereby laying a strong foundation for higher medical education and effective homoeopathic clinical practice.
